Kinda tv and animals merged together. Been watching it on TV and its really openened my eyes. There are 700 silverback gorrilas left on the planet, and tons of other animals are facing extinction in the next 100 years. What a waste. I actually find it upsetting that my childrens children might never be able to see elephants and tigers in the wild.

this may seem harsh and all, but the way i see it is, its just the way things are and its the way of life... but yes i do think it is truly a pity that humans are a major cause of the extintion of these animals...

In a few hundered years there'll only be us, scavenger birds and the animals we raise for slaughter/amusement. How sad is that? I don't think that this is the way of things at all, I think it's sad, and wrong. THings are the way we are because we tollerate it, not because 'that's just how things go'.
Granted, in a few hundered years we may all be dead from exposure because the ozone is gone, or extinct due to disease generated through pollution or viral mutation.
Humanity is excellent to it's island in space. Wise, benevolent dictators, we.

Exactly, we could prevent it, or atleast delay it if we wernt so human orientated, after all, these animals have been here long before us, and just becuase we are more developed, it doesnt mean we should wipe them out..which is what is happening

Woo. Someone agrees with me.
But, I really think humanity needs to give it's head a shake. Greed is our fatal flaw, and we forget to realize that if our ship, earth, sinks... we'll all drown in space.

In a few hundered years there'll only be us, scavenger birds and the animals we raise for slaughter/amusement. If this happens, I doubt that the ecosystem could survive. So yes, if we keep on the pace that we are going, we are only killing ourselves.

We have always been killing ourselves anyway. As someone mentioned above (and I'm too lazy to find out who o.o so sorry), the animals have been here longer than us. They have a right to the world just as much as we do! Meaningless killing won't get us anywhere and will only destroy the entire planet and every part of existence for any creature -- including ourselves. We've already poluted the air, water, and land! Because of humanity, global warming has been occurring quite noticeably, though there are those who deny it. It is winter, and we haven't had snow yet! In the state I live in, we usually have snow in the middle of November, sometimes before Thanksgiving. We haven't even had that. Humans stink...is my point...I guess. o.o Every time I think of what humanity has done to this planet and its inhabitants, I can only think of two lines from the song Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas). You think you own whatever land you land on / The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim and You can own the Earth and still / All you'll own is Earth until / You can paint with all the colors of the wind. The entire song could probably be used in explaining humanity, but I only wanted those few lines...>.> Also, being vegetarian, I'd try to tell you that we don't the meat to survive, but I am not creating a debate over that... It would deter from the meaning of this thread. The killing of animals for meat we don't need is part of animals being killed meaninglessly, though.
