With the 2010s now gone this thread can be used (all music styles) to showcase your favourite albums from the 2010s. I have heaps I want to mention so it will take time to gather.

First pick for me will be Metallica's Hardwired to Self-Destruct from 2016. The album was highly anticipated and I'd hoped for much better mixing than Death Magnetic and gotta say surprisingly this album more than surprised me how good it is. Lot of different songs that remind me of different eras of the band but the standouts for me are Halo On Fire the excellent ballad, Moth Into Flame, the thrashy Hardwired track and the really thrashy Spit Out The Bone that matches it with Dyers Eve, Damage Inc.

Yea Paddy, that Metallica album was indeed a very strong come back ! Absolutely love it too !
My first pick will be Judas Priest's Firepower from 2018.
Brilliant album that in quite some places reminds me of older works but also adds some more good modern elemets. Absolute favorites from this album for me are Children of the Sun and Lone Wolf

Next for me is one of the tied best albums for me of the decade and that is 2014's Ne Obliviscaris Citadel album. For me this is just perfection in blending extreme black/death metal with progressive, melodic and sometimes emotional atmospheres. They are a must band for any progressive music fan.

'Hoga Kusten' by Tomas Ledin from 2013. A major departure from his usual rock style as this is a bluegrass/country album. The title translates as 'The High Coast' and is an autobiographical album about his childhood days. 'Staying At Tamara's' by George Ezra. One of the few 'current' artists I like. 'A' by Agnetha. As usual, she doesn't disappoint.

Enslaved Riitiir (2012) - Perfect album of progressive Black Metal that has Enslaved really at the top of their game for me. They've had an excellent career but Riitiir is one of their best highlights if not the best one imo. Mix of progressive and the heavy side of black metal is awesome.

Next one for me is from 2019. From out of Nowhere by Jeff Lynne's ELO
Great album for me which shows that Jeff Lynne at his age can still make very good albums. It also in quite many ways reminds me of older elo albums which I have always enjoyed a lot. Absolute favorite track for me is One more time
