I had a thread very similiar to this one (albeit focusing on teachers) over at CJ's forum and decided to continue the trend here. Very simple premise, really: Do you remember your school years fondly? Me,myself, I would have said "NO" before the pandemic hit, but I can't really tell anymore. I often find myself going out of my way to go through my old school's building in my way to and from college and work and I can't help but being nostalgic about all the fun I had in there while being a little kid with no more worries in the world than catching the latest episode of Pokémon or Dragon Ball and discussing it with friends during recess (and, OK, during class as well ). And while I resisted going in there everyday and couldn't wait for it to be over and out of my life, I would be lying if I said that there wasn't a driving force making me wanna attend most of the time. Now, as with most things, this appreciation came much later in life, when the book had firmly been closed on that chapter of my existence. But man, it still stings a little knowing that there was a time where I could both be responsible and carefree and that's why I remember my school years fondly.

no.
I hated school (sucked at almost every lesson), and didn't have friends because of being an intrivert early on
it still embarrasses me now that I left school early without a single qualification, single certificate, etc
oh: some of it was fun, sure. I remember times where I'd tear up my homework and throw it in the pond, or tell the teachers exactly what I thought of them, I even remember 1 gal throwing up during a school production and the entire audience roaring with laughter
so as a joke, sure, it was fun. but I never took it serious

Well, I wasn't exactly honor roll or yearbook material, either

I left school back in the early 1990s and the best day for me was the day i left , i hated school simply because i was bullied all the way through it , i think the best thing to come out of it was the small group of friends i made and my best mate of 35 years , i did enjoy some of the classes and just about managed to get a few GCSE'S

I was bullied a lot, too, but I chose to remember the good details, few as there were, during Elementary School.

I hated school. Junior high was just awkward, and then high school was not much better. I did a lot of stuff with my friends, and got in quite a bit of trouble, but my grades were horrible. My first round of college wasn't much different. I didn't take any of it seriously.
I did go back to college as an adult and got my Bachelor's degree, and I was so proud of myself to graduate with honors because I'd never done well in school in my younger years.

Hey, congratulations, man! That's just excellent!

Thanks, Icebox. It was kind of overwhelming at graduation, when they rattled off my name and said my degree and my honors designation. I felt like crying! I think it was relief that it was all over.
