Cool list Gem !! Now this might sound like a naff idea , but I enjoy listening to some of the classic scary stories by M R James “ Casting the runes “ for example is a good one . I Just checked over on BBC iplayer and there is a distinct lack of Halloween movies in the selection! Hopefully they will add a couple of classics in the run up .

Some others that are corny, but hey, they might be of help:
The Evil Dead The House Of Wax Carrie Child's Play Dolly Dearest I Know What You Did Last Summer
For kids, I don't know if it's even available on DVD (It was once many years ago on VHS), but there was Double Double Toil and Trouble with the Olsen Twins. Then there's Disney's classic, Hocus Pocus.

OMG ..OMG …OMG ! I know it’s not Halloween, but add this to the list ! “Doctor Sleep “ ! ( Sequel to the classic “ the Shining “ By Stephen King I found it genuinely scary and unnerving , Danny is older he possesses the shining ability and comes into contact with a young girl who has the shining powers too ,however there is a dangerous group who are hunting children with these powers so they can feed off it and give them immortality… A long movie that cranks up the tension!
