Since I was young, I've loved music. I bought CDs whenever I could, asked for CDs for presents, etc. and over the years I have collected a lot. I could even tell you what I remember what were gifts (from whom), or what store I bought it from. My first CD I ever owned that my dad got for me was Avril Lavigne's "Under My Skin" when it was brand new (so you already know how long ago this was). My range of music has quite the variety, I must say. At some point, I decided to keep track of all my music CDs IN PURCHASE/RECEIVAL order in a WordPad file back in 2008 (possibly earlier? I don't know, as that is the earliest date of creation in my very first flashdrive I still have). Every time I got a new CD, I excitedly typed in all the information---artist, title, label, every track, now bonus goods it came with. At some point, then I slowed down on buying music and shifted to purchasing lots of anime and manga. I also had forgotten a few entries, luckily due to having order history on Amazon and remembering approximately when I got other CDs, I was able to continue the list recently. My musical taste has shifted from my prodominantly alternative rock/hardcore music to Kpop music, though I still love rock music--whenever Kpop artists have rock songs, or when there's a K-Band, I get super excited. And though Kpop has taken first place in my musical taste, I am still loyal to some of my non-Kpop loves, such as Carrie Underwood and RED.
Now, to the reasoning of this post...
After literally years, I FINALLY reached CD number 100 as of when I placed my order for BTS "Love Yourself: Tear". Now by order of purchase, this would be album 100. HOWEVER, as I have 4 other CDs coming I have ordered afterward, RECEIVAL comes first, and since BTS has yet to be shipped, TRCNG "Who Am I" will probably take the place of album #100. In this list, I do more than just list off every album. I have artists organised in alphabetical order at the end, with every CD I have from said artist in A-Z order as well. I tally up the total, I list unaccounted CDs (I currently have 2 missing), what CDs are on the way, and a Top 3 list of artists who I own the most music from. I want to share those stats with you!
CD #1: Avril Lavigne "Under My Skin"
CD #10: Relient K (self-titled)
CD #50: Disciple "Scar Remains [Special Edition]"
CD #100: BTS "Love Yourself: Tear" (by purchase) / TRCNG "Who Am I" (by receival)
Unaccounted: Plumb "Beautiful Lumps of Coal", Mirror's Edge Theme "Still Alive: The Remixes"
Top 3 Artists: B.A.P (9), Relient K (6), Underoath (5)
I've recently also saved an image of every CD cover I own, so I never forget what they look like~
