I would probably say Slayer. It was one of my first bands to get me into metal along with Rob Zombie(officially got me into metal), Judas Priest, Slipknot, and Powerman 5000. Although, I really like old Metallica, too. Especially Ride The Lighting. I do enjoy Megadeth and Anthrax, too. Rust In Peace and Among The Living are amazing albums. How about you all?

Can’t go wrong with their first 4 albums. Especially Ride The Lightening.

Megadeth because I think as an overall career there's more good music from them than Metallica. I still like Metallica but I think Megadeth had higher highs. Slayer is a bit repetitive to me and Anthrax I never deep dived but I've never liked them as much as even Exodus or Testament.

As a fan of every Big Four band for a long time Megadeth was my favourite with Metallica close behind but given these days they're both tied for my 2nd favourite band of all time they are on equal footing now so I can't put in a vote. The legacy of both bands and I include outside of the 1980s eras will be remembered for a long time. I for one enjoy a lot of their music even outside the 80s and early 90s.
Metallica may have put out stinkers like St Anger and were involved with Lulu but those aside I still think they've had some great post Black album material including 72 Seasons. Megadeth's arguably biggest miss was Risk but I personally really liked that album too. They too have some great post-2000 albums.
