Thread to discuss your favourite albums in music and I have plenty I intend to talk about that I probably won't get to in my blog thread.

Carcass - Necroticism
Many people will argue Heartwork is Carcass' best album and for awhile it was my favourite but in time the previous album Necroticism started to become my new favourite. Riffs are beefy, catchy, heavy and are memorable to the max especially on songs like Incarnated Solvent Abuse and Corporal Jigsore Quandary. The two albums before this in Reek of Putrefaction and Symphonies of Sickness had a more grindcore type of sound but Necroticism really is a classic Death Metal sound and perfectly captures the essence of Carcass to me.

Opeth - Damnation
With Deliverance being the companion album to this one I wanted to post this one specifically as this would be my second favourite Opeth record. A lush, beautiful and melodic album that focuses more on the progressive rock elements. No growls on this but there really didn't need to be as Mikael's cleans just compliment the lushly executed instrumentation. Critics who panned the recent direction of Opeth but were accepting of Damnation need to maybe give the likes of Heritage and Pale Communion another chance because Damnation was an early sign that Opeth would continue to reach new heights of their exploration side.

Testament - The New OrderThe New Order remains my personal favourite Testament album with glorious riffs throughout, awesome vocals and just that classic thrash metal sound Testament have come to be known for especially in the 1980s. A lot more melodies throughout this album give some diversity too and an excellent atmosphere. A must have album. The New Order track

Municipal Waste - Hazardous Mutation
One of the best thrash metal albums especially in the modern era if not ever. Crossover bands like this perfectly fuse thrash and more hardcore punk together and Municipal Waste are the example of this. Very short type of album but it's a case of quality over quantity and it doesn't overstay its welcome. A highly recommended thrash album and band for that matter. Riffs galore are fantastic, vocals, bass, drums all the music just executed superbly.

Overkill - The Years of DecayThis may not be my no. 1 Overkill album but it is well up there. Overkill take a more experimental approach with the tempos and melodies. At times feels very doomy and melodic and I love that Overkill could pull that off nicely being a major thrash metal force. Their 1980s albums are all metal classics but for me The Years of Decay is right up the top with albums like Feel The Fire. Playing With Spiders/Skullcrusher
